There are over 23,000 Florida Bright Futures Scholars at the University of Florida, and 92% of incoming in-state Freshmen receive the award. The fall and spring terms (spring and summer, if the student is enrolled in the spring/summer Innovation Academy program).

Students who lose their Bright Futures scholarship may be eligible for a ONE-TIME ONLY scholarship restoration of their award.
Bright Futures eligible 2008-09 high school graduates and earlier:
Bright Futures eligible 2009-10 high school graduates and thereafter::
An eligible student who did not receive scholarship funds for the previous academic year (fall through spring) is eligible for “reinstatement.”
Students who qualify for restoration or reinstatement must complete a Reinstatement/Restoration application available on the http://www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org http://www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org OSFA website.
If a Bright Futures recipient did not receive scholarship funds during the academic year, their Bright Futures Program will become inactive. In order to receive the award in a subsequent year, a Reinstatement application must be completed on the http://www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org http://www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org OSFA website.
Note: If a student withdraws from and repays a full semester of courses, and does not receive funding in the other term, or withdraws from and repays both semesters, this is considered an unfunded academic year, and the student must apply for Reinstatement prior to the next academic year they wish to be funded.
